The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladeshi scientists have many reputations in the world, Bangladeshi scientists are showing success in various fields. Bangladeshi scientist Dr. Zafarul Hasan won the special award given by America for discovering the method of preventing anthrax attacks.
Mr. American citizen of Bangladesh origin. Zafarul Hasan did his MSc in microbiology from Dhaka University, then he went to the University of North Carolina in America in 1986 with a special scholarship from the Rotary Club. There he earned a Masters of Public Health degree. Later in 1994, he received his doctorate in microbiology from the University of Maryland.
Staying in America Dr. Zafrul Hasan's research continues on various subjects. In the meantime, when various terror attacks started in America through bio-terrorism and several people were killed, the US government said they would find a way to prevent the anthrax attack spread through bio-terrorism, and as such, some talented scientists. Thus began the search and competitive selection process involving talented scientists from nearly 50 organizations across the United States. Bangladesh scientist Dr. Zafrul Hasan was also nominated for his talent.
