The Dhaka Times Desk The police have arrested at least 24 people, including former BNP MPs, from different areas of the capital since Sunday morning in connection with the 'March for Democracy' program of 18 parties led by BNP. 1 person was killed in the shooting.
At around 11:00 am, the police arrested three leaders and workers of the Nationalist Women's Party from in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan. They are former Member of Parliament Roshan Ara Farid, Central Committee member Sadia Haque and Jannatul Ferdous.
Meanwhile, the police arrested 15 people from the press club area in the morning. The police say that the suspects are being searched and detained for the sake of security. 15 arrested people have been kept in Ramna police station. On the other hand, the police arrested 4 people from the Malibagh railway crossing area around 11:30. Jamaat-Shibir workers took out a procession near Malibagh railway line around 11:30 am. They set fire to the streets. The police dispersed them by firing blank bullets.
Earlier, the police arrested two people named Abu Taher and Ismail for suspicious loitering at Nightingale Junction in Vijayanagar around 10:30 am. Ismail was taking pictures. When the police asked for his identity, he claimed to be a journalist. But he could not show any identity card. They were later taken to Paltan police station.

A man named Mansoor was shot dead in a police clash with the Jamaat-Shibir in Malibagh and was taken to Dhaka Medical where he died. On the other hand, lawyers are protesting inside the Supreme Court.
