No long distance bus left from Benapole for 8 consecutive days, mainly due to lack of security, bus companies did not dare to leave any bus, among the 5 buses that left Benapole on Thursday, 4 were of Sohag Paribahan Limited and one bus was of Eagle Transport.
The head of the counter of the local Eagle Transport told the media that due to the lack of security on the road, they did not leave any buses on the orders of the labor union, but now they have left the buses to provide security to the administration.
Meanwhile, no bus is coming to Dhaka or any other destination in the country for a long time. Passengers returning to India are reporting their complaints in Benapole. Abul Kalam Azad, a Bangladeshi citizen from India, said on Wednesday, even after coming from India, we were not getting any bus to Dhaka, here we were facing extreme suffering. We didn't know exactly when we would be able to return home, but we were pretty sure to leave the bus under the security of the administration, but we would be relieved when we reached Dhaka.
On the other hand, the OC of Benapole police station said, "In order to get several tourists returning from India stranded here, we have talked to the highway police and taken the initiative to bring these passengers to Dhaka with the joint efforts of both parties.
