The Dhaka Times Desk He who has nothing has God. Everyone says that. That is true. An old man from Nalitabari in Sherpur has no choice. There is only one horse. At last this horse became his only recourse.

Nalitabari Upazila of Sherpur is a quiet area. Being a border area, the settlement is very less in this area. And most of the people who live in this area are Garo or different tribal groups. Roads are also not very well developed. Ali Mir alias Saitta Fakir (85) of Ullarpar village of Morichpuran union of this upazila, one day he bought a small horse with an interest-free loan of 6,000 taka from the local Mathaphata Bazar Grameen Bank. This horse is now his only source of income.
Saitta Fakir begs on horseback. Due to his age, Nubj Saitta Fakir cannot walk like before. He can't even take his old wife for begging for a couple of rupees. To pull the wealth of the world has to be hard. And so Saitra Fakir actually begs on horseback. Earning is also good now. Saitra Fakir now does not take alms of 2 rupees, at least 5 rupees. This hobbyist is doing well with horses and family. His family is going away with what he gets by begging on horseback. Many people call him the kind beggar. Almost everyone gives alms. Ali Mir aka Saitta Fakir wants to end the rest of his life by taking care of the horse. He is now widely known in this area. Many jokingly said that if Ali Mir aka Saitta Fakir stands as a member in the union then he will become a member. But Saitta Fakir, however, said that he has no desire to become such a big thing. Even if you go to the election, you need money. Where will he get it? So he wants to spend the rest of his life like this. This is his only life and livelihood.
