The blockade-strike is not over yet: schedule disruptions continue on the railways

The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Railway has not yet overcome the pressure of strike-blockade. Now the schedule disaster is going on. The morning train at night and the night train in the morning still exist.

No one knows when the train schedule will recover from this disaster and become normal. The train is running in such condition. In particular, the schedule crisis in the eastern region has taken a severe form. In the last few days, it has also been seen that the train arrived 10 hours late. The inter-city train from Dhaka to Chittagong reached Brahmanbaria at quarter to 2 in the night. That train came at 12 o'clock yesterday. Similarly, the scheduled time to reach Brahmanbaria from Chittagong to Dhaka is 4:30 am. Yesterday at 1:15 pm at Brahmanbaria railway station, it was found that the train was just entering Comilla. It will be 2.30 am to 3.00 pm on reaching Brahmanbaria.

Not only these two trains but almost all the trains in Eastern Railway are running without punctuality. Night train next day at noon, morning train at night like this train is running on random schedule now. It has also been seen that when one train arrives, the passengers get another train. Again, many train journeys are being canceled due to schedule disruption. In such a situation, the railway passengers have suffered greatly. The train schedule has basically been disrupted by the blockade-strike.

Although there are various hartal-blockade programs for about two months, there is no movement program since January 8. Still, the railways could not overcome the pressure of schedule disaster in the last 9 days. Especially the trains running on Eastern Railway. It is not possible to say when such a situation will be overcome.

However, after talking to several people about this, they said that the railway schedule disruption should not last more than a week. If such a situation occurs then these schedules should be normalized after the weekend. If such a situation arises one after the other then this situation should not arise if some trains are canceled and the schedule is normalized. Everyone is asking why it is not being done.
