The Dhaka Times Desk Travel is their passion, spent 13 consecutive years traveling the world. At that time, they had an 85-year-old car and in these 13 years, they had 4 children, all of whom were born while traveling in different countries!

Unbelievable but true, a couple named Herman and Candelaria Zapp have made a car their home and traveled to different countries. He did not return home for 13 consecutive years. It is easy to imagine how much a family can travel from country to country leaving their own society in this way.

Herman and Candelaria Zapp have made their 85-year-old car their home on this long trip. They got family there and surprisingly 4 children were born in this car. These children have grown up again in the car and on the borders of different countries!

Herman and Candelaria Zapp's children are Pampa (10) born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Tehu (7) born in Argentina, Palma (4) born in Vancouver Island and three-year-old Ullaby in Australia.

Surprisingly, this family has traveled to one country after another with small children and has given birth to the rest of the children. Accompanying them throughout their journey was their vehicle as well as the house which is an 85 year old jeep.

This family traveled 2 lakh miles, over 40 countries in 13 years. They gave birth to their 4 future generations.

They wandered from country to country and faced various obstacles. Sometimes you can see the sea in front of you, sometimes the river and there is no way to go anywhere, the way is covered by huge mountains or deserts! They have conquered all the ways in their own way.


Herman and Candelaria Zapp met long ago when Herman was 10 years old and Candelaria was only 8 years old. Since then, the two friends are still friends. Meanwhile, Herman is now an IT specialist. After getting married in 1996, Herman and Candelaria Zapp began their world tour in 2000.

"We love to travel, but we have everything a young couple needs," Herman said of their travels. We are currently in the Philippines. I am now 42 years old and Candelaria is 40 years old”.

About teaching their children, the couple said, “We are teaching our children according to our own syllabus every day. Their study content is always improving. So they are not becoming uneducated they are becoming self-educated along with proper education.

Herman and Candelaria Zapp say we want to travel until we die. We want to go from the earth to the moon to go around. Travel is our addiction so travel will continue next destination Europe!
