The rally of the BNP-led 19-party alliance was scheduled to be held on Monday afternoon at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital. Although this rally was supposed to be held on Sunday, it was announced that it will be postponed to Monday for the sake of the book fair. But BNP postponed the rally as DMP did not give permission for this rally. However, the party sources said that the protest program has been announced today at the police station of Dhaka city. It is known that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia took this decision after discussing the situation.
It is to be noted that due to non-permission, Ijtema and the Prime Minister's program at the book fair, the rally was postponed twice. As per the announcement of the first phase, the rally was supposed to be held last Saturday. On that day, it was announced to postpone the book fair by a day due to the inauguration of the Prime Minister's book fair. A press release signed by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General of BNP informed that the last prayer of Vishwa Ijtema on Sunday was postponed by one day and the rally will be held on Monday afternoon.
