But a few days ago, Paresh Barua contacted his colleague Jyotirmoy and inquired about the recovery of an emergency bag. According to intelligence sources in India, the conversation revealed that Paresh's bag contained some of his used SIM cards and some important phone numbers.
The bag is believed to be in the possession of Partha Gogoi, Assistant Finance Secretary of Wolfa. He was killed by the cadres of the organization on the orders of Paresh Baruah after planning to surrender to the Indian forces. The report also said that 12 ULFA leaders were killed by operatives on the orders of Paresh Barua in the last three months. Talking to Jyotirmoy, Paresh Barua said that the phone directory and SIMs in the bag were recovered safely. They are currently in possession of a confidant of Paresh Barua in Myanmar.

It is to be noted that on April 1, 2004, the police seized 10 truckloads of weapons at the CUFL Jet Ghat in Chittagong.
