Finding the oldest pyramid in the world!

The Dhaka Times Desk Archaeologists have discovered a 4,600-year-old step pyramid near the ancient city of Edfu in southern Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza was thought to be the oldest until now. It is believed to have been built several decades before the Great Pyramid of Giza.

It is believed that the Step Pyramids were built during the reign of Pharaoh King Pharaoh Huni or Pharaoh Nephru for provincial purposes. They are about 43 feet (13 m) high. At various times, the stone pillars of the step pyramids have been looted and the pillars are covered in snow. As a result, it now looks only 16 feet tall.

Scattered across central and southern Egypt, these pyramids were built around major landmarks. There are no crypts inside them and they were not used for burials. The true significance of the seven pyramids is still a mystery today. They may have been used as symbolic pillars in some royal ritual.

Archaeologists have found a variety of food offerings in this newly discovered pyramid. They think this will help them understand the purpose of building these pyramids.

Archaeologists have discovered many hieroglyphic designs carved into it. These clues basically reveal the burial place of children at the foot of the pyramid. But researchers believe that the cryptic signs were written long after the construction of the pyramids and that the signs do not indicate the original burial site.

Researchers did not know about the existence of this step pyramid until the site was excavated in 2010. It is discovered from a sandstone outcrop covered by a thick layer of clay. It didn't look like a pyramid. Even the people of nearby villages knew it as the grave of a local old Muslim man.

It is made of clay and sandstone powder. Its structure is three-tiered - the center is vertically upward and the remaining two tiers lie side by side. It looks a lot like the step pyramids built by Pharaoh Jose. Pharaoh Jose built the first pyramid in Egypt. He was a pharaoh of the third dynasty of ancient Egypt. Researchers believe that this step pyramid was built with earthen sandstone and local raw materials. Such sandstones were discovered 800 miles north of the pyramids in 2011.
