The Dhaka Times Desk We all know the mammoth or now-extinct elephant from the movie Ice Age. It is a species of elephant that became extinct after the Ice Age. A large crooked mammoth tooth was recently discovered by construction workers in Seattle, North America. It is believed to date back to the Ice Age 10,000 years ago.
It was found at a depth of 40 feet during deep excavation in South Lake Union, Seattle, USA. The workers were digging when they suddenly heard something hard hitting something. They quickly dug into the ground and found a large, cylindrical object. It is later understood that it is a mammoth tooth.
It is found when digging up private property. So the land owner will decide about it.
Mammoths look a lot like elephants. It grows to about 12 feet tall. A pair of long teeth protrude from the mouth and are curved upwards. Their body was covered with long hair.
They came from Asia to North America 2 million years ago. They became extinct during the last 10,000 to 11,000 years of the Ice Age. The Ice Age began about 1.6 million years ago and ended about 11,000 years ago.
Mammoth is an extinct animal. We usually see them in films or animation movies. And so you can imagine these could be the teeth of Manny from the ice age movie or any of his family members!!
