Cabinet size increasing: New ministers sworn in today

The Dhaka Times Desk The size of the cabinet is increasing. At least 4 ministers are going to be sworn in on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony of the cabinet may take place at Bangabhaban at 12 noon.

Two full ministers and two or one state minister are going to take oath in this cabinet meeting today. However, it is not yet certain who will be invited to take the oath. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed today's oath. But he didn't say anything more. He avoided the questions of journalists and said that he will know everything when the time comes. The swearing-in ceremony of the Cabinet may be held at Bangabhaban today at 12 noon.

However, quoting a source, various media reported that Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali may be given the responsibility of the full minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was earlier a member of the election cabinet. Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali took oath as an MP later due to the postponement of the election of several centers in the constituency. And for this reason, the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was with the Prime Minister. However, the state minister of this ministry Shahriar Alam.

On the other hand, although there is a state minister in the home ministry, there is no full minister now. It is heard that a full Minister will be appointed in the Ministry of Home Affairs. But who is being given this responsibility is still not sure. It is heard that former Home Minister Major (Retd.) Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam may be assigned as Home Minister this time. Major (retd.)
