Meanwhile, the upper house of the Russian parliament approved a proposal by President Vladimir Putin to send Russian troops to suppress the ongoing unrest in Ukraine. As a result, Russian military operations in Ukraine may begin at any moment.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to send troops to Ukraine, however, comes in the wake of new Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov's appeal for help in the Ukrainian region of Crimea. Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation of about 90 minutes on Sunday, as the United States' concern about Ukraine can be seen.
