The Dhaka Times Desk Breakthrough protein discovered for physical longevity and good health. Researchers in the United States have discovered a type of protein that increases the lifespan of animals and alleviates the health problems of old age by studying mice.
This life-promoting protein is called SIRT-1. It will improve health, reduce body cholesterol and prevent diabetes. Although the experiment was conducted on mice, the researchers claim that it will work on humans as well. Researchers have found that synthetic SIRT-1 affects the body's life-promoting molecules. Rafael de Cabo, head of the research project, thinks this is a breakthrough discovery. He added, 'This is making it clear to us that we can improve the molecules and that will solve the chronic diseases and metabolic problems of aging.'
The researchers found that it increased the average lifespan of the mice by 8.8 percent and significantly reduced body weight and fat. Also promotes normal muscle function. Research has shown that SIRT-1 significantly lowers LDL cholesterol and thus protects against cardiovascular complications. Increases insulin sensitivity which prevents diabetes. SIRT-2, the next member of SIRT-1, plays a role in metabolic function in many species. It helps in DNA repair and gene regulation. Animals begin to see results within six months and will live a lifetime under certain criteria.
The research is still in its early stages and has not yet been done on humans. However, health experts hope that a far-reaching result will be found through this research.
