But in this case, if it is delayed, the patient dies. The French pharmaceutical company Sanofi SA has been working for a long time to develop this dengue vaccine. Recently, their vaccine trial in Thailand has brought great success. They recently reported that their vaccine has been shown to be effective against three of the four types of dengue virus.
The French company Sanofi administered the vaccine to 4,000 children in Thailand between the ages of four and 11. While conducting these tests, they observed that the vaccine was effective against three of the four dengue viruses.
Note that there are four types of dengue virus. Sanofi officials are now conducting further tests. The French company has invested 350 million euros in the development of this vaccine over the past few years.
