The Dhaka Times Desk The High Court has ordered to introduce Bengali language everywhere by May 15. The High Court has given this order to take necessary measures to introduce Bengali everywhere, including offices-courts, media advertisements, signboards, all types of numbers and name notes.
A bench of the High Court consisting of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain gave this order on Tuesday. Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Roy for the state and Advocate Dr. participated in the hearing on behalf of the application. Yunus Ali Akand.
On February 17, the same bench issued a ruling seeking to know why all foreign language advertisements and vehicle nameplates should not be changed to Bengali within one month.
In the ruling, the respondent Cabinet Secretary, Home Secretary, Law Secretary, Director General of Bangla Academy, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and Registrar of the Supreme Court were asked to respond within 2 weeks.
It is to be noted that Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Yunus Ali Akand filed this writ in the relevant branch of the High Court.
