The South Traffic Department announced a few days ago that they are going to take tough measures to enforce those who do not obey the road traffic laws. Although the system was not announced at that time, the South City Corporation of Dhaka is quietly installing modern anti-road cross passing devices or modern traffic spikes on several roads.
Basically these devices have several features. These slags do not cause any problem in driving the car in the right direction, but when you drive on the road in the opposite direction, these slags pierce the wheels of your car and cause damage to the wheels.
Officials of Dhaka South Traffic Department said, we wanted to explain in many ways; But who listens to whom? The public unnecessarily drives cars on the opposite side of the road without following the rules. It creates unnecessary traffic jams. So this measure has to be taken under compulsion. Hopefully this will completely stop reverse driving.
Initially, the deterrent device was installed opposite Arunodaya Gate in Ramana Park while going from Hotel Rupsi Bangla towards Kakrail Mosque and after Rashtriya Guest House Suganha and in front of Yamuna (now Foreign Service Academy).
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khandkar inaugurated this new traffic control device on Friday. Senior police officers were present at the time.
