Narendra Modi is taking oath as the Prime Minister today: Around 4 thousand guests will be present along with the Prime Minister of Pakistan

The Dhaka Times Desk BJP-backed leader Narendra Modi is going to take oath as Prime Minister today at 6 pm Indian time. Around 4,000 domestic and foreign guests will be present at the Rashtrapati Bhavan event.

Mahendrakshana is not too late. Time has come. Narendra Modi is going to take oath as the Prime Minister. He is going to take charge as the new Prime Minister of the country today Monday at 6 pm local time in Rashtrapati Bhavan in an informal ceremony.

Influential and eminent persons from various walks of life have been invited. SAARC heads of state have also been invited to the event. Although Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could not attend the event due to her visit to Japan, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury is representing the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already appeared in New Delhi with a delegation of 30 members among the heads of state or government of the SAARC countries for the oath ceremony. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse has also come to India as an invitee.

Among others, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobge and Maldivian President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom will be present at the event. India's newly departed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi, former prime ministers, presidents and chief ministers of various states will attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony, according to media reports.

According to NDTV, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, new Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bashundhara Raje, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Majhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Modi's mother may attend the swearing-in ceremony. However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who criticized Modi during the election campaign, is not going to the event.
