Seven amazing islands with amazing animal diversity

The Dhaka Times Desk There are many islands scattered around the world. And these islands are home to rare species of animals and plants. This diversity of fauna and flora has charmed nature lovers. So nature lovers have rushed there from time to time. Today we will highlight how many diverse islands.


1. Borneo

Third largest island in the world. This island is spread between Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei. The total area of the island is 751,100 sq km or 290,000 sq mi. The island has 10 species of mammals, 350 species of birds, 150 species of reptiles and amphibians. Also there are 6000 rare species of plants here.

According to scientists, Madagascar has about 200,000 species of animals and plants, most of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Among them are about 15 species of lemurs, 36 species of birds and many other exotic animals.

Because there are carnivores in Tasmania; They are called Tasmanian devils. There are also huan pine trees, which grow very slowly but live for about 3,000 years. The island is home to penguins, parrots and rare species of handsome palm trees.

6. Couiba Island, Panama

The island is located 15 miles from the mainland of Panama. With an area of about 122,000 acres, this island is the largest island in Panama. Mangrove forests, pristine wetlands like this are found nowhere else in the world. Coiba Island is the only place in the world where the long-tailed red tern and crested eagle still survive.

7. Galapagos

About 1000 kilometers west of the South American coast, the islands formed by volcanic rocks near Ecuador are known around the world as "Galapagos". The famous naturalist Charles Darwin stayed on this island for about three years, collected various specimens of the island, researched the animals and wrote The Origin of Species. This island is called a wonder of nature. Because the island's fauna is so diverse that scientists believe it was separated from the African mainland by earthquakes thousands of years ago.
