Now the question is whether the people will benefit from this mobile app? According to EC sources, it will be easy to get advice on various issues including collecting and amending national identity cards. If the app reaches the hands of people, they can sit anywhere and know what to do on their mobile phones. Apart from this, the idea of providing this service through short code number (SMS) or through phone calls is also underway.

When many people in Bangladesh lose their national identity cards, when they go to the local EC office, they are told to go to Dhaka and apply for identity cards. However, through this new mobile app, if any person has lost his National Identity Card, he can find out all the necessary steps for correction or change of area by sending an SMS or calling the specific number. Besides, a data recovery site is being set up so that even if the data of the EC database is lost due to any natural calamity, the activities can be carried out in an alternative system. It will be implemented very soon, said a deputy secretary of the establishment wing of the EC.

Sources of the EC said that this initiative has been taken to deliver services to the remote areas of the country or outside Dhaka. And the work is being done by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. When the app is launched on the mobile, any citizen from any part of the country will get the necessary directions to correct, get a new identity card or move the area if the national identity card is lost. At present, the National Identity Card Registration Sub-Division continues this service through the EC website.

Meanwhile, according to EC sources, they are continuing to discuss this app in more detail, discussions are going on at various stages. Now the final decision will be what services can be provided through these apps. EC system manager.
