M. H. Sohail “Bangladesh has not demanded an apology from Pakistan. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her inability to visit Pakistan because of her illness, not on the issue of apology." Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has claimed this. And through these words, it has been proved that the demand of Bangladesh is reasonable. It is only a matter of time for Pakistan to apologize to Bangladesh.

The time has come to apologize for the atrocities Pakistan inflicted on the people of Bangladesh in 1971. There are examples of this in different countries of the world. Just as Germany apologized many years after World War II, even after 40 long years, those who are in power in Pakistan should apologize to Bangladesh for their past actions. Because asking for forgiveness does not make anyone smaller. Besides, everyone knows the story of 1971. In 1971, the entire world witnessed the torture and torture of the elderly, children and women by the Pakistani forces in the name of protecting the country. Pak army was carrying out one of the heinous massacres in history that day. The oppression that was perpetrated on other Muslim mothers and sisters by becoming Muslims is still considered as the most heinous incident in history.
Despite the demands raised during various governments, the country became independent under the leadership of the present government, the Awami League government. And so whenever this government came to power, the issue of Pakistan's apology came up. After the Awami League government came to power in 1996, the people of this country raised this demand. Again, even after the current government came to power, this issue has repeatedly come up in various meetings and seminars. One day maybe this Pakistan will apologize. But the sooner the better.

Speech of a freedom fighter
Talk about apology with a freedom fighter who fought for the soil of this country in 1971. Honorable Member of Parliament of Pabna-4 Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu said that one day Pakistan will have to apologize to the people of Bangladesh for 1971. He thinks that Pakistan must repent for the oppression of Bengalis in 1971. Because the barbaric attack of 1971 will forever remain as a witness in history. Its brutality can never be erased. He thinks that Pakistan should apologize to the people of Bangladesh.
D-8 context
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was scheduled to attend the D-8 summit but it was suddenly cancelled. And that's when this discussion-criticism started. Many believe that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not attend the D-8 summit because of the issue of Pakistan's apology to Bangladesh. And from this the story of 1971 started again. However, Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar's statement in this regard reminded the conscious Bengalis of this country again about the role of Pakistan in 1971. There has been such a situation, 'Who is under the loft?... I have not eaten jaggery'. It was never officially said about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's refusal to attend the D-8 summit in Pakistan that 'if she asks for forgiveness, she will attend or not,' but the Pakistani foreign minister has created the question herself. Because many Pakistani human rights activists have repeatedly said that Pakistan should apologize to Bangladesh for the 1971 incident.

It should be noted that Pak Foreign Minister visited Bangladesh a few days ago. At that time Pakistan was called upon to apologize for the atrocities committed in the 1971 War of Independence. But Hina Rabbani Khar denied it. He requested the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to attend the D-8 summit held in Pakistan's capital Islamabad. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina denied it. Soon after, news spread that Sheikh Hasina had turned down Pakistan's invitation to attend the conference because of Pakistan's non-apology. Hina Rabbani Khar rejected such news. However, the report did not mention where he said these words. News agency PTI reported this on November 20. It is said that the D-8 conference is starting from tomorrow in Islamabad. Hina Rabbani Khar personally invited Sheikh Hasina to attend the conference. At that time, Bangladesh did not demand an apology from Pakistan. He said that during the visit of Hina Rabbani on November 9, the leaders of Bangladesh gave her a warm welcome. He said that the demands of Pakistan to apologize are completely wrong. He said that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh had some problem in his eyes. So his doctors advised him not to travel. On the other hand, Pakistani media has reported that Bangladesh has called on Pakistan to apologize for the war crimes committed by Pakistani civilian and military officials in the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in 1971. But as Pakistan refused, Sheikh Hasina said not to attend the D-8 Summit. However, Hina Rabbani Khar said that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yodyoyo, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Nigerian President Goodluck Ibeli Jonathan, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan are attending the conference. It may be attended by Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister and a special representative from Bangladesh. President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari will inaugurate this conference. He will also preside. From this conference, Pakistan will be made the chairman of D-8 for the next two years.
