The Dhaka Times Desk A Malaysian passenger plane with 295 people on board has crashed in Ukraine, according to world media, including the Russian news agency Interfax.
Malaysia's aviation regulator said Boeing MH17 was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 295 passengers on board. All passengers are presumed dead as of last word.
Meanwhile, citing local sources, Interfax reported that the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in the Netherlands crashed in the Shakteresk region of Ukraine. The distance from the crash site to the Russian border is 50 km.
It is initially believed that the plane was shot down by a special anti-aircraft missile from 32,000 feet.
Interfax confirmed that there were 295 people on board the plane when it crashed. Among them 280 passengers and 15 crew.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Airlines authorities confirmed in their latest Twitter tweet that they have lost contact with the MH17 flight. The last contact with the aircraft was over the Ukrainian border. A video of smoke billowing from the plane's crash site has already been released on YouTube. There was no news about the rescue operation of the plane.
