Today is the Great Victory Day. The day of Bengali nation's glory

The Dhaka Times Desk Today is the Great Victory Day. Bangladesh was established as an independent state on this day in 1971. The 9-month long armed struggle ended with the surrender of the Pakistani forces on 16th December.

Today the nation is celebrating this day with due dignity. The President, Prime Minister and Leader of Opposition delivered speeches on this occasion. Our independent sovereign, a state, a flag was earned on that day in exchange for the sacrifice of millions of people's lives and the honor of our mothers and sisters. The flag we are proud of today. In the war of independence, on that day the unarmed Bengalis were attacked by the Pakistani army. And they were supported by the Razakar of this country, Albadar Alsams. Today, the Razaka army is facing trial. But that defeated power of that day is still sitting in our country. They are still active. Those Razakars want to turn the entire country into a terrorist state to escape from justice. Now is the time to stand against them. Apamar people of this country think that the success of today's victory will be fully achieved by completing the trial of the Jamaat-Shibir forces who helped brutally torture the Bengalis that day.

Bengali nation has not forgotten those days of 1971 even today. Because of the way Pak forces attacked the unarmed Bengali nation with their own criminals that day. Those thrilling days can never be forgotten.

We reverently remember those fearless soldiers whose sacrifice, in exchange for whose blood we have today an independent sovereign state. Got a flag. Our sincere respect and love to all those lakhs of warriors.
