According to the report of the Indian Express newspaper, the incident of forcing a fasting Muslim worker to eat food took place in Maharashtra Sadan last week. 11 MPs of Shiv Sena have been accused of forcing the fasting worker to take food in the Maharashtra House of Delhi, India. And this matter has reached the Lok Sabha, according to a report published online by the Times of India on Wednesday.
According to the report, those 11 Shiv Sena MPs were angry because Maharashtrian food was not served in the Maharashtra House. They then forced a Muslim caretaker working at the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation to eat 'chapati' (a type of bread) during the fast.
According to the media, this allegation was made against Arvind Sawant and other 10 Shiv Sena MPs in a letter sent to Maharashtra Chief Secretary J Shahariyar.
However, he denied the allegations made against him by Arvind Sawant. Arvind Sawant has claimed that the report is 'false' and 'baseless'.
Meanwhile, all the employees of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, which supplies food to Maharashtra Sadan, stopped all their work, media sources said. Former Railway Minister Malikarjun Kharge raised the matter in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. There was tension about this incident. It has been informed that the matter will be discussed in the Lok Sabha.
