The Dhaka Times Desk International media reported that 5 Bangladeshis were killed in two separate missile attacks in Libya.
According to the media, 5 Bangladeshis were killed in 2 separate missile attacks in Libya in the last two days. 3 people died in Gachhar Bin Gachhar area near Tripoli Airport on Wednesday morning. The deceased are Md Moshiur Rahman son of Rafiqul Islam of Moksudpur upazila of Gopalganj, Sheikh Mohammad Milan son of Ali Sheikh of Rajair upazila of Madaripur and Md Murad Molla son of Sarwar Molla of the same upazila. All the 3 deceased were working as tiles technicians. They went to inspect the construction work of a building in that area. A missile missed its target and hit it around 10 am local time. The 3 people were killed on the spot. Their bodies have been kept at Tripoli Medical Center. This was informed by the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, 2 people died in an attack on a water treatment plant company in Sarraj area of Tripoli. They are Md. Monir Mia son of Phul Mia of Belab upazila of Narsingdi and Md. Milan Hossain son of Sadar Ali of Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah. 14 Bangladeshis worked in that water treatment plant. Among them, 2 Bangladeshi named Abdul Hamid and Ambar Ali were injured. The remaining 10 are safe and have been evacuated to a safe place.
It should be noted that the conflict between the two sides has continued for some time over the capture of the main airport of Tripoli, Libya. Before this, 2 Bangladeshis named Mohammad Milan and Mohammad Swapan of Shariatpur were killed in the missile attack on the night of June 21.
