The Dhaka Times Desk Everyone knows about the health benefits of spinach. But scientists are not thinking about the health benefits of spinach but its energy benefits. Scientists say it is possible to make car fuel from spinach.
This research work was recently published in the world renowned science journal Nature. Scientists are claiming that it is possible to make natural fuel from spinach. Because spinach contains ingredients that are primarily higher alkanes. Spinach has the potential to produce alternative fuels using sunlight. A group of researchers from the Department of Power and Renewable Energy Bioengineering at the University of Arizona in the United States conducted this study. They found a higher HDPE or high-deficiency protein-energy-containing complex protein in spinach. The researchers took the protein complex and excited it artificially with laser light. The researchers found that in this case the complex causes tension within the protein's nucleus. It collides with photons of light particles. As a result, it diffuses energy in this excited state. which will be converted into fuel by researchers in a special process.

Yulia, one of the researchers of this study, said that the protein complex converts 60 percent of the energy it receives from sunlight through photons into chemical energy and diffuses energy. It is much more than ordinary fuel. The researchers hope that they will get a good quality advanced fuel from spinach as this energy diffusion has not been found before in the alternative natural fuel hydrogen.
