Recently, there is tension in the government regarding the implementation of the order to arrest him and present him in court in a fraud case. According to media reports, the West Bengal government's home department has recommended the court to issue an Interpol red corner notice against Mumtaz. The news also said that the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India has also been asked to cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India regarding the arrest of Mumtaz. According to the media, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka has also been asked to contact the Bangladesh government regarding Momtaz's arrest.
According to media reports about the incident, 'Look out notice issued against Mumtaz in India is still in force as before. According to the police, in 2009, in a court of Baharampur, Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India, a case of fraud and fraud was filed against Bangladeshi artiste Mumtaz under sections 402, 406 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code, accusing her of not performing according to the contract with an advance payment of several lakhs of rupees. Filed by a person named Shaktishankar Bagchi. In that case, he appeared and took bail, but he did not comply with the bail conditions, on the orders of the Calcutta High Court, his bail was canceled and the lower court was ordered to issue an arrest warrant. Accordingly, the Baharampur court has issued an arrest warrant, but many problems have arisen in its execution. As a result, the government's helplessness in arresting the police was reported to the court.
It is known that in the latest report submitted to the court, it has been informed by the police that the Indian High Commission in Dhaka has regularly urged the Bangladesh government to arrest Mumtaz, but no results have been obtained. Sumit Chaturvedi, consular and visa secretary of the Indian High Commission, in a letter sent to the director of the branch office of the Ministry of External Affairs in Kolkata, Ranjan Mondal, made it clear that despite regular calls by the mission to the local authorities to arrest Mumtaz, there was no response.
Shakti Shankar Bagchi, the petitioner of the case, expressed his anger and said, "Despite the issuance of an arrest warrant against Mumtaz, Mumtaz came to Kolkata in 2012 and took part in a concert under the shelter of a legislator of the ruling party of the state. He was surprised that the immigration department at the airport did not detain him when he returned.
