The tribunal has ordered life imprisonment for Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Molsna, who was detained in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the liberation war. On Tuesday, February 5, the three-member tribunal headed by Justice Obaidul Hasan, the chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal-2, passed the verdict. Through this verdict, two of the cases under trial in the tribunal have been decided. Abul Kalam Azad was hanged in the first verdict. He is currently absconding.

After the proceedings of Abdul Quader Mollah's case on January 17, the tribunal left the judgment to be delivered any day (CAV). Barrister Abdur Razzak, the chief counsel for the accused, finished presenting his arguments in the tribunal that day.
Investigation of crimes against humanity against Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah started on 21 July 2010. He was arrested in a case from the Supreme Court area on 13 July 2010. He was arrested in this case on August 2 of the same year. The investigation was completed on October 31, 2011. On December 18, formal charges were filed against the state party, Quader Mollah. The tribunal began the formal trial of Quader Molsna on May 28 with the framing of charges.

In the order framing the complaint, it is said in the introduction of Quader Mollah that Quader Molsna was born in 1948 in Amirabad village of Faridpur. He joined the Chhatra Sangh in 1966 while still a student at Faridpur Rajendra College. The tribunal accepted six of the prosecution's charges against Abdul Quader Mollah. The prosecution presented its witnesses on six charges.

In the first complaint, it is said that Pallab, a student of Mirpur Bangla College, who was arrested by the anti-independence forces, was shot dead on April 5, 1971, on the orders of Quader Molla.

In the second complaint, it is said that on March 27, 1971, Quader Molla along with his accomplices killed poet Meherunnisa's mother and two brothers at Mirpur Section 6 house.

The third complaint is that on the afternoon of March 29, 1971, when journalist Khandkar Abu Taleb from Arambagh went to the bus stand of Mirpur section 10, Quader Molla and his accomplices caught him and took him to the pumphouse and slaughtered him.

In the fourth complaint, it is said that on November 25, 1971, from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm, Kader Molsna and 60-70 Razakars went to Khanbari and Bhadurchar (Shaheednagar) areas of Keraniganj police station in the capital. There Mozaffar Ahmed Khan and two unarmed freedom fighters Osman Gani and Ghulam Mustafa were brutally killed by bayonets. Quader Mollar and his accomplices attacked Bhawal Khanbari and Bhudarchar (Shahidnagar) and killed hundreds of unarmed villagers.

According to the fifth complaint, on April 24, a Pakistani army helicopter landed on the eastern side of Alokdi village in Mirpur. Kader Mulla entered the village from the western side with more than half a hundred non-Bengalis and Razakars and started firing indiscriminately. More than 344 people died in that incident.

In the sixth and last complaint, it is said that on March 26, 1971, at around six o'clock in the evening, Kader Molsna and some Bihari and Pakistani soldiers went to Hazrat Ali's house at No. 5 Kalapani Lane, Sector No. 12, Mirpur. Hazrat Ali was shot dead on the orders of Qader Molsna. At the same time his wife Amina and two daughters Khadija and Tahmina, two year old son Babu were killed. In the same incident, 12 associates of Quader Mollah raped Hazrat's 11-year-old daughter. Momena, another daughter of Hazrat, witnessed the incident by hiding at that time.

In this case, the state presented its opening statement on June 20 last year. Then the state's first witness gave his statement on July 3. So far, 12 witnesses of the state, including two investigating officers, have testified against Quader Molla. In the same case, the testimony of six witnesses has been taken.

Barrister Abdur Razzak, the main lawyer of the defendants, presented arguments on legal points for three days from last January 7. Then another lawyer Abdus Sobhan Tarafdar presented their arguments on other issues.

On July 3 last year, the first prosecution witness Mozaffar Ahmed Khan testified against Abdul Quader Mollah. After that 12 witnesses testified one by one including Shahidul Haque uncle. Some of these women witnesses have given their statements in camera trial. Defense lawyers cross-examined them.

Out of the total 56 witnesses in the prosecution list, 12 including the two investigation officers of the case have testified in the tribunal.
On the other hand, on behalf of Kader Molsna on November 15, the testimony of six witnesses was accepted by the tribunal out of a total of 965 witnesses through his own testimony. After the testimony of both parties, the prosecutor Mohammad Ali started presenting his arguments against Quader Molla from last December 17. While he finished presenting his arguments on December 27, the tribunal fixed January 7 as the day for the defense to present its arguments. From the appointed date, the defendants begin presenting their arguments.
After presenting the opening statement of the 96-page prosecution against Abdul Quader Molla on June 20, July 3 was set as the day of testimony. On March 7, the International Criminal Tribunal-1 started the hearing of charges against Quader Mollah. Then, on the application of the prosecution, the case was transferred to Tribunal-II on April 16. Then on May 7, another charge against Quader Mollah and the application brought for inclusion of six witnesses in the case and amendment of some words in the formal charge were heard. On May 28, Tribunal-2 filed six charges against Quader Molla, and the prosecution filed an investigation report against him on November 1, 2011, accusing him of murder, rape, arson, and crimes against humanity. Then on December 28 of that year, Tribunal-1 took cognizance of the complaint.
