Citing the news of the local newspaper The Star, the media reported that Md. Aminuddin Yassin and Zuhairul Effendi Jualkafi are immigration officers of the Kangar area of Perlis, the provincial capital of Malaysia. Allegations have been made against them that they have tortured and killed a Bangladeshi prisoner named Abu Bakr Siddique (45) in Hajj. The Star also quoted news agency Barnama as saying that Abu Bakr was killed on the night of October 29.
It should be noted that if this charge of murder is proved, the accused will be sentenced to death according to the Malaysian Criminal Code.
