It is known that due to the huge demand for workers in various infrastructure construction activities on the occasion of the Football World Cup in Qatar in 2022, Qatar expressed this interest considering the efficiency of the Bangladeshi workers working in the country.
Ambassador of Qatar in Dhaka Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Mana expressed this interest during a meeting with Minister of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Khandaker Musharraf Hossain at Pravasi Kalyan Bhawan on December 11. They also discussed various issues related to mutual interest.
In the meeting, Ambassador Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Mana said that there is a huge demand for our workers for the construction of various infrastructures on the occasion of the football World Cup in 2022. This demand will be met by hiring workers from different countries.
Due to this, 50 thousand workers will be required to be recruited in the first phase. He said that workers of Bangladesh can take this opportunity. He also assured to give priority to Bangladesh in recruiting workers in other sectors as well. Ambassador Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Mana mentioned that these workers will be taken at a low immigration cost.
Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Mana said Bangladeshi workers working in Qatar are more skilled than workers from other countries. That is why he praised the Bangladeshi workers and said that the government should strictly monitor that no worker is financially cheated by brokers.
At that time, Expatriate Welfare Minister Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain said that we have 2.2 million registered workers' data in the bank. We can supply any number of workers from that data bank. No Adam trader will have access to this method.
It should be noted that currently more than 2 lakh Bangladeshi workers are working in Qatar. All of them have a reputation for doing their job efficiently.
