State Minister for Information and Communication Junaid Ahmed Palak said in Parliament on Sunday that the free Wi-Fi zone has been launched at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Minister of State for Information and Communication told Sambad that this initiative has been taken so that the passengers can make their necessary communication while coming and going from abroad. The State Minister gave this information yesterday afternoon in response to a supplementary question of Sabina Akhter Tuhin, a government member of parliament.
At this time, the state minister informed the members that the name of this free Wi-Fi zone has been given as 'Welcome to Digital Bangladesh'. Its password is joybangla.
Minister of State for Information and Communication Junaid Ahmed Palak said in response to another supplementary question that the process of launching free Wi-Fi zone in universities is also underway. It has already been launched in several places including Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen. He informed the Parliament that this facility will be introduced in several other universities in phases.
