The High Court has issued a ruling seeking to know why the family of Jihad, who fell into a pipe in the capital's Shajahanpur, should not be ordered to pay Tk 30 lakh compensation. The High Court bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi Md. Izarul Haque Akander issued this ruling on the hearing of a separate writ today.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Abdul Halim filed this writ in the High Court on behalf of Children's Charity Bangladesh Foundation, seeking a direction to pay 30 lakh rupees compensation to Jihad's family on December 27 after the body of Jihad was recovered on December 27.
It is to be noted that on December 26 last year at around 3:30 pm, Shishu Jihad fell into the pump pipe of the railway field near Basa in Shahjahanpur of the capital. Jihad's body was recovered after about 23 hours on December 27 at 3:30 pm.
