This time, a Bangladeshi student has made the reputation and integrity of Bangladeshis heavy. The applause came from Marina Mahathir, the daughter of former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad himself.
According to media sources, a Bangladeshi student named Monir Hossain has set a new example of honesty after collecting millions of rupees worth of belongings of Mahathir's daughter.
Monir came to Malaysia in 2013. Monir is the only son of Abdul Motaleb of Charalakshmi village of Raipur upazila of Laxmipur. Monir Hussain is a Diploma in Business student at Seremban Nightingale College, Malaysia. Being a child of a middle-class family, like ten Bangladeshis, he also has to work to pay for his education. Monir works part-time at a restaurant called 'Kebab Turki' in Layat Plaza, Bukit Bintan. He has to work four days a week. A lot of customers come to this restaurant Kebab Turkey every day.
One day after work, Monir saw someone's bag lying there. Opening the bag, he found an iPad worth 3,000 ringgit in Malaysian currency, an i-mobile phone of the same value, 2 bank cards and several other useful documents. In the bag he also found a visiting card, which was written by Marina Mahathir.
Bangladeshi student Monir Hossain took the number from the card and called Marina. Marina's security personnel received the call from the other end. When Monir told him about the bag, they came to the restaurant. Monir was surprised to find Marina's identity at this time. However, Monir Hossain expressed his reluctance to return valuables including bags without proper proof.
The security personnel spoke to Marina and took back the bag after showing her photo. At that time they wanted to give Monir some monetary reward but Monir refused to take it. Later, the marina's security personnel took Monir's photo and left.
According to media reports, then Mahathir's daughter Marina uploaded Wale Monir's photo on her Facebook and gave a status detailing Monir's honesty. He wrote in the status, 'Monir is a step son. Despite his hard work, he did not get greedy. Bangladeshis are really beautiful.'

After that Facebook status, the news of the moment spread to the Bangladeshi community including the citizens of that country. Other Malaysian citizens also congratulated Monir.
After this incident, Monir said in one of his responses to the media, 'Every person should be honest from his place. One can never grow by coveting the next thing. To be great you must have integrity. Foreigners will love us because of us.'
In harmony with Monir, we also want to say that what cannot be achieved with crores of rupees. It can be achieved only by faith. And this trust comes through honesty. That is what we as humans should hold onto. Then there will be no violence in the society. Then it will be worthwhile for us to be born on earth.
