These Pakistani airlines suspended their operations citing counterfeit currency and gold smuggling. This was done in protest against Bangladesh security forces raiding PIA country manager Ali Abbas' residence in Dhaka. The Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported in a report, 'Bangladesh intelligence forces alleged that PIA passengers were involved in money laundering from Karachi to Dhaka. Based on this, the detectives searched the house of Ali Abbas. On February 25, PIA's country manager was taken back from Bangladesh. All five flights of the airline were subsequently suspended. After the discussion between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the movement of PIA started again in Dhaka.
It is to be noted that recently the relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh is not going well due to the issue of trial of war criminals.
