Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan is acting in Indian Bengali film maker Srijit Mukherjee's movie 'Rajkahini'. Supriya Devi, Rituparna Sengupta, Parno Mitra, Savitri Mukhopadhyay are acting in this women-centric film.
Recently, the producer Srijit Mukhopadhyay himself has released the 'first look' of the film along with the pictures of the bride and groom on the social media Facebook. It is known that after 12 long years Rituparna is working with Srijith through 'Rajkahini'.
In this regard, Rituparna told the media, 'It is a story about courtesans. The subject is partition. Picture with a border house in the center. I had to speak dialogues in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu. The character is very challenging. This film is a tough challenge not only for me, but also for Sreejith's directorial career.'
Producer Srijit said, 'The way the West has treated the Holocaust, the kind of books, movies, and culture that have been written about it, but we have not remembered the partition. I quickly forgot that wound. To today's generation, partition is a grandmother's hold.
Srijit Mukhopadhyay is producing the film dedicated to Indian writer Ismat Chugtai and writer Saadat Hasan Manto, who migrated to Pakistan after partition, and filmmaker Ritvik Ghatak. The shooting of the movie started in December 2014.
