Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood chief Mohamed Badi has been sentenced to death by 13 people by the country's court. The court gave him this sentence in the 'attack against the state' case. 13 others have been sentenced to death in the same case. However, Badi's lawyer, Ahmed Helmi, described the verdict as a 'farce'. Badi's lawyer alleged that the verdict was given before the hearing was over. The full verdict will be announced next month on April 11. However, the defendant can appeal against this verdict.
According to media sources, on the same day, a court in the northern city of Mansoura ordered the death penalty for 8 members of the Brotherhood in another case.
It should be noted that after the military coup in Egypt in July 2013, the government of dictator Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has been carrying out unimaginable brutality on the Muslim Brotherhood leaders and activists in the country.
