According to the researchers' plan, a robot will work for weeks on how to make water on the surface of the moon by 2017. The preparatory phase of the mission is underway. The researchers named this project RESOLVE. The robot prepared for this project will analyze the frozen liquid in the polar region of the Moon and discover the technique of making water from it. The robot developed by the researchers will be solar powered.
They also said that the project cost for this short-term mission will be only 250 million US dollars. The researchers are hopeful that the mission will be able to produce water using Martian material or find water.
