In this case, the name of State Minister for Women and Children Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury is being discussed. Apart from this, the party is also discussing who will get the party nomination in the by-election of Abdul Hamid's constituency (Kishoreganj-4). Meanwhile, if Abdul Hamid becomes the President, the post of Speaker will become vacant. Discussions have started in Awami League about who will be the speaker.
According to the rules, the party nomination for the post of president will be finalized in the parliamentary party meeting of Awami League.
