This time a total of 10 lakh 73 thousand 884 candidates are participating in these exams under 8 General Education Boards, Madrasas and Technical Boards. Last year there were 11 lakh 41 thousand 374 candidates. Compared to that, the number of candidates has decreased by 67 thousand 490. Bengali (compulsory) first paper subject exam will be held today on Wednesday at 10 am.
5 lakh 70 thousand 993 male students and 5 lakh 2 thousand 891 female students participated in the examination. This year, 8 lakh 86 thousand 933 students will participate in HSC under 8 General Education Boards, 84 thousand 360 students in Alim under Madrasah Board, 98 thousand 247 students under Technical Board and 4 thousand 344 students are participating in DIBS (Diploma in Business Studies).
According to the exam schedule, the theory (written) exam of HSC will end on June 11. The practical exam will start from June 13 and end on June 22. This year 8 thousand 305 institutions have 2 thousand 419 centers for examination. 241 candidates are participating in the exam in 7 centers abroad.
This year 25 papers of 13 subjects will be held in creative mode. It has been informed that an additional 20 minutes will be allocated for the participants of the examination with audio recorders and the mentally challenged, hearing impaired (mute and deaf) candidates as before.
It is to be noted that despite the hartal-blockade of the 20-party alliance, the examination will be held according to the examination schedule, according to sources in the Ministry of Education.
