For example, despite the Farakka agreement, we do not get water during the dry season. Again, the killing of Bangladeshi citizens like birds at the border is a matter of concern. There is also a long-standing dispute over the Teesta Treaty. In such a situation, the Bangladesh-India border agreement was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of India last Tuesday. Now the entire process will be completed only if it is passed by their parliament. Then there will be the issue of implementation.

The implementation process is not very pleasant for Bangladesh. Despite the Farakka Agreement, Bangladesh does not get water during the dry season. Floods occur due to excess water in the monsoons, while in the dry season there is a cry for water.

The much-discussed Bangladesh-India land border agreement is going to be implemented keeping Assam. The Union Cabinet of India has approved the Constitution Amendment Bill in this regard. This bill to implement the agreement was also passed in the Rajya Sabha of India yesterday on Wednesday. Now just implement it.

It is known that the possibility of passing the bill in the parliament based on the consensus of the BJP and the Congress is expected to end the long-standing tension between the two countries over the agreement.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh tour schedule will be finalized soon as the border bill has been finally passed in the Indian Parliament. However, diplomatic sources said that Narendra Modi will come to Dhaka next June. The land border agreement between Bangladesh and India will be completed by not only passing the matter but also through its implementation. The two friendly nations are expected to further improve relations.
