Free Internet service is being launched today, Sunday, May 10, across the country. All customers of the country can enjoy this facility. The service is being launched by the Government's Department of Information and Communication Technology, Ravi Aziata and Facebook. internet.org (internet.org) project will get this free facility.
Officials of the Information and Communication Technology Department said that in the first phase, customers of the country will get free login facility to several government websites including National Information Broadcasting, Service Portal, National Form Portal and some newspapers. All government service sites will be brought under this program gradually.
Information and Communication Technology Department Public Relations Officer Abu Nasher said that this program will be inaugurated at a hotel in the capital on Sunday at 11 am. State Minister for Information and Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak will be the chief guest at the event. Officials of Facebook and Robi will be present in the event.
Note that the present government has promised to build a digital Bangladesh after coming to power. Introduction of online system in all areas of the country is part of it. With the introduction of this free internet system, the information technology of the country has gone one step further.
