Salehi said that the construction work of this specialized hospital will start soon. He also told the media that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has approved the construction of this hospital.

Salehi also elaborated on the treatment using radioactive material known as radiomedicine. He said that more than one million patients are already being treated with radiomedicine prepared in Iran. He also said that Iran is the only one in the Middle East to produce such material for medical use. He said, no country in the Middle East can produce radiomedicine.

At present, nuclear medicine is a breakthrough discovery in medical science. It has applications in both treatment and diagnosis. This radiomedicine is made by mixing atomic substances ie radioactive isotopes with medicine. Different radiomedicines are used in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases in different parts of the body.

Note that one of the goals of Iran's peaceful nuclear program is to use this technology in the medical field. According to media reports, the main goal of this program is to continue the research and development of nuclear technology in medicine.
