Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asiq has alleged that the character of Rasool (PBUH) has been portrayed in the much-discussed film 'Muhammad (PBUH) Messenger of God' made by Iran, instead of being portrayed correctly. He called for the film to be banned. He also claimed that as Rasool (PBUH) has made an important contribution to Islam, his ideal ideal has not been presented in this film made by Iran. Mufti Shaykh Abdul Aziz Al-Asiq complained that the film did not promote Islam in the way that the Prophet (PBUH) was presented.
The movie 'Muhammad (PBUH)' was released in 140 cinemas in Iran. Made at a cost of 40 million US dollars, this film is the most expensive film in Iran.
The director of the film, Majid Majidi, said, 'The unity of Islam is presented in this 171-minute production. The correct image of Islam has been presented by presenting three negative stories of the time of Rasool (PBUH).' Rather, director Majid Majidi believes that the extremists have been distorted.

On the other hand, the thinkers of the world famous Al-Azhar Islamic University condemned the film. At the same time, the government of Iran has been called to ban the film 'Muhammad (PBUH) Messenger of God'. The dean of the university's theology department, Abdul Fatah Al-Awari, complained, "The director physically represented the Prophet (PBUH) in violation of the Shariah Board's regulations - which is against Islam." On the other hand, the World Muslim League condemned the film for showing the Prophet (PBUH) physically in reality. World Muslim League Secretary General Abdul Bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki said, 'Tehran must declare this film banned. He said that presenting Rasul in physical form is against Islam. The Secretary General of the World Muslim League has also called upon Muslims to boycott the film.
Notably, 'Muhammad (PBUH) Messenger of God' has already been presented at Canada's Montreal Film Festival. The film received a huge response worldwide. The expensive film earned 11 crore tumans in Tehran alone on its third day of release on August 30.
