The Dhaka Times Desk Prime Minister's Information Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy officially inaugurated the SIM registration by matching the experimental fingerprints using the biometric system.
Inaugurating this program at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications today (Wednesday) morning, Sajib Wazed Joy said, 'Bangladesh is the second country in the world in terms of biometric SIM registration. I am proud of that.'
When the Honorable Information Technology Advisor reached the Ministry in the morning, he was welcomed by the Minister of State for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim. Later, Prime Minister's Information Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy exchanged views with senior officials of ministries, regulatory agencies and various government companies.
The process starts with registering a Teletalk SIM in Joy's name. As soon as he gives his fingerprints, his national identity card information is automatically sent to Teletalk's server.
