The Dhaka Times Desk Saka Chowdhury and Mujahid appealed for life. Jail authorities confirmed the matter to the media after two magistrates went to Rajnigandha jail cell and met Saka Chowdhury and Mujahid separately.
BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Mujahid, who were sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in 1971, have appealed to the President for life, the prison authorities said.
Sources also informed that the two petitions for life alms will reach the President today.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs told the media that the application of these two criminals against humanity has now reached the Ministry of Home Affairs. In no time, the two applications from the ministry will be sent to the President.
It is to be noted that the two magistrates went to the Rajnigandha cell of the prison and met Saka Chowdhury and Mujahid separately to find out whether to apply for the death penalty.
