The Dhaka Times Desk Sri Lankan Catholic leader calls on Christian priests not to bring Christmas tree to church on Christmas Day!
According to media reports, the Catholic leader of Sri Lanka thinks that it has no importance from the religious point of view. Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Ranjit made a statement calling on the priests of different churches not to bring Christmas trees inside the church.
A total of 2 million people live in Sri Lanka. Most of Sri Lanka's population is Buddhist. Still there are about 1.2 million Catholic Christians living in Sri Lanka.
It should be noted that every year December 25 is a public holiday in Sri Lanka on the occasion of the big day. After such a call by the Catholic leader of Sri Lanka, a huge storm has been created.
