Winter pies are great fun to eat. The picture you are looking at is a picture of Puli Pitha. When winter comes, different kinds of pies are organized.
The flour bread is cut with a glass and made like a luchi. After coconuts are grated they are burnt with jaggery. Then Puli pitha is made with coconut husks burnt in that luchi. Then they are fried in oil. This puli pitha is very fun to eat. Then they are more fun to eat when soaked in the milk-juice of date molasses. These pies are carrying our tradition.
