The Dhaka Times Desk Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has been fined for publicly reacting angrily to the umpire's controversial decision on the field in the second ODI. The former world's best all-rounder was the victim of the umpire's controversial decision in the second ODI against Zimbabwe last Sunday.
TV replays clearly showed that Prosper Utsair's line of the ball was outside the leg stamp and touched his bat, but the umpire raised his finger when the ball appealed for lbw. Unable to accept the decision, Shakib protested by hitting the pad with the bat. On the way back, the opposing captain also bumped into the body of Brendan Taylor. Shakib is fined 75 percent of the match fee for violating the ICC code of conduct. Apart from the fine, Shakib also had to listen to the rebuke from the match referee Chris Broad. The three-match ODI series is now tied at 1-1. The two teams will meet in Bulawayo tomorrow to play the 3rd match of the series.
