The Dhaka Times Desk Perhaps we have never heard of such a thing before. 16 million 72 million years ago or the existence of snakes! Canadian scientists have made this claim by researching ancient snake fossils.

Canadian scientists have claimed that snakes existed on earth 16.72 million years ago. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, the age of snakes is 65 million years older than scientists previously thought. It was previously thought that snakes appeared on earth 100 million years ago.
A group of researchers from the University of Alberta in Canada studied 4 snake fossils. This study was led by Michael Chadwell, a teacher at that university. The science journal 'Nature Communications' published the research report in this regard.
Researchers have highlighted their analysis of snake fossils and said that the oldest of the 4 snake fossils is 16.7 million years ago. The 10-inch-long fossil was found in Oxford, England. Other fossils have been found in Britain, Portugal and the United States. The age of the remaining 3 is over several million years.
Research shows that ancient snake fossils had long legs. Long legs have been found in fossil studies of snakes before. Researchers are continuing to do more research on the subject.
