According to media reports, a Muslim girl from the southern Indian state of Karnataka surprised everyone by topping an exam on 'Ramayana'. Fatima Rahila, a Class IX Muslim student from Karnataka's Puttur district, scored 93 percent marks in the 'Ramayana' exam, beating her fellow Hindu examinees.
The exam was conducted by the Bharat Sanktur Institute in November last year. This girl from a small village on the Karnataka-Kerala border appeared for the exam like five others. But now his name has spread across India due to the sensational results.
It is known that Fatima's father Ibrahim is a factory worker. Mother runs the household by doing housework. Fatima, a student of Sarvodaya High School on the Karnataka-Kerala border, wants to study Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Fatima's uncle also likes this subject, says her father Ibrahim. Fatima's parents believe that their daughter will rank first in the state in the examination.
According to Fatima's family, Fatima developed a keen interest in Hindu literature after she reached ninth grade. Fatima said, 'From the beginning of the year, I started preparing with the help of my uncle. I want to appear not only Ramayana but also Mahabharata exam. 39 students from that school participated in the examination. As per rules only students of class 9th and 10th take part in the examination. Fatima's result embarrassed her fellow Hindu students. Because how much respect they have towards their religion has come out in this result.
