Lakma village in Panchbibi north from Joypurhat. The historic place is also named 'Lakma Rajbari' after this village. It is now on the verge of extinction. But some young people take action to preserve this historical place. They formed a committee of this Lakma Rajbari.
Different types of flower trees are planted in this place to enhance the beauty. The entry fee is only 5 rupees. It is known that this palace was named 'Lakma Rajbari' after the construction work was completed a thousand years ago. This place is known by this name till today.
It is known that its owner still exists through genealogy. The total number of rooms in Rajbari was 17. But most of the rooms were pitch dark. Surrounding the main palace is another smaller palace on its eastern side. And in this small palace Chowdhury's envoys kept a herd of elephants. After the partition of the country, some parts of this palace went to India. It includes a wonder pond and a Kali temple. The pond was in the west north corner of the palace. There is also a thousand year old mosque next to the palace.
